Thank you and Farewell

 

Ross Weightman and Christine Maloney have retired from their executive positions at Tea Gardens Public School.

Both Mr Weightman and Miss Maloney have served the Tea Gardens school community for many years. Mr Weightman has been Assistant Principal at Tea Gardens Public School for the past twenty-five years while Miss Maloney has served our school community as Assistant Principal for the past decade.

 

Collectively, Mr Weightman and Miss Maloney have dedicated 76 years to public education with 35 years of this combined work within our Tea Gardens school community. The commitment both have displayed throughout their time at Tea Gardens has been outstanding. Mr Weightman is fondly remembered for his dedication to the weekly after school golf program, his famous class fishing expeditions, concert and assembly items, school ANZAC services and the outstanding way in which he would engage students in their learning. Miss Maloney has also touched the lives of our students, her caring nature and her passion for student and staff wellbeing the forefront of her leadership.

 

A retirement function was held on 24 March. Joining Mr Weightman and Miss Maloney to celebrate their distinguished careers were friends, family, current and past staff, parents and former school principals Mrs Estens and Mr Martin. Both former principals spoke fondly about the retirees relaying stories from the past with each noting the genuine passion and commitment displayed by our retirees. Mr Weightman and Miss Maloney also received retirement medals acknowledging their lengthy service to public education.

 

As they tread towards their retirement, they have certainly left their lasting marks on current and former students from the area. Thank you Mr Weightman and Miss Maloney- enjoy your well-deserved retirements! We will miss you.
