A Grand Welcome back!
One of the very exciting events within the Tea Gardens School calendar is the annual Grandparents Day. Grandparents come from far and wide to share in and connect with their grandchildren at a special school assembly. This year approximately 200 grandparents and grand "friends" were enthralled and entertained by each class who took to the stage performing a range of items including dances, songs and skits.
Principal Mark Clemson highlighted the important role grandparents have in the lives of their grandchildren. Throughout his welcoming address, he acknowledged that grandparents really do make the difference to the lives of their grandkids, noting that "as parents we couldn't do it without the ongoing support from the grandparents."
The amazing assembly was followed by an opportunity for grandparents to go to the classrooms where they had a chance to see firsthand the quality work being undertaken in the school. Afterwards, our grandparents enjoyed a morning tea lovingly prepared by many parents within our school community.
Lois Wyse once said "Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation." We are very fortunate to have so many loving and caring grandparents willing to make the journey to our school each year to connect with their grandchildren.
