Young Leaders Day
The eight Ministers and the Speaker of the House from Tea Gardens Public School, along with Booral Public School and Bulahdelah Central School Leaders, set out on a great adventure on Sunday 28th February.
They arrived in Sydney at around 6:00pm and enjoyed an hour of aquatic activity at the Sydney Aquatic Park at Homebush, including waterslides and whirl pools before dining out and sleeping.
Early the next morning they attended the Allphones Arena. The theme for the leaders conference was ‘Master the Little Things.' The young leaders got to meet and listen to inspirational young people including Scott Tweedie (TV Host), Leticia Letini (Google Event Manager), Rebecca Morlands, Nathan Want and Ben Austin (Paralympian). According to those in attendance, ‘it was an experience of a lifetime meeting such inspirational people, who held everything from high-powered jobs to Paralympian, to ladies who made and sold chocolate and had a cat café.'
Thank you to Bulahdelah Central for providing their bus and to Miss Kerr for accompanying us. As one of our ministers, Toby Avery, said, he had learnt "Master the little things first and everything will start to add and build up." A truly great lesson for us all!
