We hope that you will be able to join us at our 26th opening of parliament this Wednesday.
Local, State and Federal politicians have been special guests in the past, as well parents, carers, other family members and community representatives.
The Parliament is run on the Westminster system, with the cabinet and shadow cabinet made up of Year 3 to Year 6 students, and teachers sitting in a Senate, the house of review. This year's Prime Minister is Cole Johnson.
The Parliament meets fortnightly to give advice on the running of the school in portfolio areas such as building and health, welfare, sport and special events. The Parliament has a Speaker, Sergeant At Arms and Hansard reporters. The Governor-General, Principal Mark Clemson, gives final approval for any changes to school policy.
The official opening commences at 10am.
Special guests this year include: Representatives from a wide range of local community organisations, other local schools including Bulahdelah Central School and Tuncurry PS. In addition, Kate Washington MP - Member for Port Stephens and Len Roberts - Deputy Mayor Great Lakes Council will also be in attendance.
