Extraordinary talent on display with the 2014 Tea Gardens Public School Concert, "At the Movies"
The biennial event saw over 200 performers strut their stuff in both a matinee and evening performance to a combined audience of 475 delighted fans. Hosted by Margaret and David (A.K.A Alex and Joshua) the two hosts displayed talent well beyond their years, keeping the audience entertained with some humorous and witty comments in between each of the performances.
After an overture from the school and community band, performing songs from the Flintstones and George of the Jungle, the audience were thrilled by performances from the school dance groups based around the Chronicles of Narnia and the Harry Potter series.
Kindergarten then dazzled the audience with "South Pacific". Our littlest performers loved the experience.
"I danced to wash that man right out of my hair. I liked to wiggle my bottom in the dance. It was fun"- Rosie
"I danced to South Pacific. South Pacific is the best and it was fun." – Boston
"Being in the navy for the concert was fun. The music was good. My mum was clapping."- Will
A vast array of performances followed, spanning from a ship sinking to martians from outer space. Our budding actors performed to The Lion King, Despicable Me, Grease, Aladdin, Titanic, Mars Attacks! and The Blues Brothers.
The night concluded with the school choir performing a song from The Bee Movie.
What a night!
